KAS Flatlines Despite Tocatta Fork as Hourly Tx Count Holds 27K-31K Band
Kaspa's Tocatta upgrade shipped clean and throughput hasn't slipped, but KAS spot price shows zero reaction — two analysts read the gap as accumulation, not weakness.

Kaspa’s Tocatta hard fork executed without network disruption, yet KAS price action has produced no measurable response to the upgrade. On-chain data shows accepted transactions holding in a 27,000-to-31,000-per-hour range post-fork — throughput that has not degraded despite the absence of any corresponding price move.
Throughput steady, covenant testing live
Kaspa’s structural pitch remains block cadence: the network produces roughly 10 blocks per second against Bitcoin’s one block per ~10 minutes, a gap YouTube analyst Ro (Crypto Ro channel) points to as the network’s core differentiator — faster confirmation and higher throughput while retaining proof-of-work security, a combination he argues Bitcoin never engineered for.
Following Tocatta’s activation, developers began testing the fork’s new covenant functionality, with no reported disruption to network operation. Wallet distribution data still shows a broad base of smaller holders against a comparatively thin layer of very large wallets — a structure Ro reads as evidence against concentrated whale control, though it doesn’t independently explain the flat price action.
Target spread: $0.50-$1 near-term, $10 pushed out a decade
Ro and a second analyst, Doc (Invest with Doc channel), both frame the current stagnation as a potential accumulation window rather than a fundamentals problem, though neither treats near-term upside as guaranteed. Doc disclosed he added to his KAS position as part of an ongoing dollar-cost-averaging strategy, citing Tocatta as a structural catalyst that could broaden how developers evaluate the chain beyond payment speed.
Doc explicitly rejected a circulating $10 KAS thesis as unrealistic for the current cycle, placing his own near-cycle targets at $0.50 to $1, contingent on adoption materializing. He said a $10 valuation would more plausibly require a five-to-ten-year horizon. Both analysts flagged Kaspa’s tokenomics — no VC allocation, no premine at launch — as a structural point favoring its long-term positioning against VC-backed layer-1 competitors.
KAS thesis stays conditional on BTC’s macro path
Ro’s near-term KAS thesis is tied directly to Bitcoin’s broader trajectory. He expects the current bear phase to persist, projecting a possible recovery through June and July followed by renewed weakness across August, September and October, with a scenario in which Bitcoin revisits the $50,000 area before a durable bottom forms. Under that framework, any fresh Bitcoin drawdown extends rather than closes the current entry window for Kaspa.
Ro was explicit that technology alone won’t move price without adoption — developers, businesses and active users building on Kaspa remain, in his framing, the missing catalyst for sustained appreciation. For desks tracking the on-chain side, the narrower data point stands apart from the target debate: hourly transaction counts haven’t degraded since Tocatta, and covenant experimentation is underway, but neither metric has yet converted into renewed spot demand for KAS.
