Fasanara-Linked Wallet Carries $67M ETH Short on Hyperliquid in Public View
A $67M ETH short from a Fasanara-tied Hyperliquid wallet exposes institutional derivatives flow moving fully on-chain and traceable in real time.

A wallet tagged “BobbyBigSize” on Hyperliquid’s public explorer is carrying a roughly $67 million short position against ETH, and on-chain trackers have linked the address — 0x7fdafde5cfb5465924316eced2d3715494c517d1 — to institutional quantitative asset manager Fasanara Capital. The size and traceability of the position mark another data point in the shift of professional derivatives flow onto transparent, on-chain venues.
The position, in numbers
$67 million is large enough to register on Hyperliquid’s open interest and funding metrics for ETH perpetuals, and its full exposure sits at a single, labelled wallet rather than being obscured across custodial books. That is the structural difference between centralized exchange positioning — usually inferred from aggregate funding rates, open interest and liquidation feeds — and an on-chain perp, where the counterpart wallet, entry size and margin can be pulled directly from block explorer data.
For traders watching ETH price action, that visibility turns the wallet into a de facto reference point. Market participants can now track whether the position is being added to, trimmed, or approaching a liquidation band, generating a feedback loop that pure centralized-exchange flow rarely produces at this resolution.
Short does not equal bearish
A $67 million short from a quant-style institutional manager should not be read as a straightforward directional call on ETH. Funds running relative-value or market-neutral books commonly use perpetual shorts to hedge spot holdings, offset options exposure, or capture funding-rate spreads between venues — not to express a simple down-price thesis.
On-chain visibility exposes the wallet-level trade, but not the rest of the book. Without knowing whether the same entity holds offsetting long ETH exposure elsewhere, in spot, options, or across other venues, the short alone cannot be read as a clean sentiment signal — it is one visible leg of a strategy that may otherwise remain opaque.
What it says about Hyperliquid’s liquidity
The bigger structural signal is venue-level. Hyperliquid has built a perpetuals product with execution and depth closer to a centralized exchange than earlier generations of on-chain derivatives platforms, and that has started pulling in flow that once stayed exclusively on custodial venues or OTC desks.
A position of this size clearing on-chain suggests Hyperliquid’s order book can now absorb institutional-scale ETH exposure without the trade needing to route through a centralized counterparty. For on-chain researchers, that also means funding rates, open interest and liquidation clusters on Hyperliquid deserve the same weight as equivalent metrics from centralized venues when gauging ETH positioning risk into future volatility events.
