Crystal Intelligence Adds AI Layer to 330-Chain Forensics Stack for Compliance Desks
Ask Crystal compresses multi-screen AML reviews into one AI-generated narrative across 330+ chains and 110,000 attributed entities.

Crystal Intelligence has added an AI-driven analysis layer to its blockchain forensics platform, aiming to cut the time compliance and investigation teams spend correlating on-chain data across screens. The Amsterdam-based firm announced the rollout of Ask Crystal on July 14, an on-demand feature built into its institutional product, Crystal Expert.
Crystal Expert already covers more than 330 blockchains and tracks over 110,000 attributed entities, positioning it as one of the larger forensics datasets used by compliance teams, investigators, financial institutions and regulators to trace fund flows and file compliance reports. Ask Crystal sits on top of that dataset, generating a single structured narrative for any given transfer rather than requiring analysts to manually cross-reference alerts, counterparty history and fund connections across separate tabs.
What the AI actually outputs
Each Ask Crystal summary is broken into four sections: a transfer overview, a connections analysis covering the source and destination of funds, a breakdown of triggered alerts by type and detection rule, and a review of prior interactions including a trusted-list check. The company says the tool can be regenerated on demand for a fresh read on the same case, and access is gated through role-based permissions as it rolls out to existing Crystal Expert customers now.
The stated problem the product targets is consistency risk: with case volumes rising, two reviewers looking at the same transfer can reach different conclusions when the underlying evidence — transfer details, fund connections, alerts and counterparty history — is scattered across separate interfaces. Crystal Intelligence frames Ask Crystal as a way to standardize how that evidence is read, not as a replacement for analyst judgment.
Executive framing
“Across compliance, investigations, and risk, teams are asked to make high-stakes calls under time pressure, with the evidence scattered across screens,” said Navin Gupta, Chief Executive Officer of Crystal Intelligence. “Ask Crystal changes that. This AI does the reading, the correlating, and the cross-referencing in seconds, then hands the analyst one clear, evidence-backed story. We are not automating the decision. We are giving every decision the full picture it deserves.”
Crystal Intelligence lists four operational claims for the product: reduced complexity through a single structured view per transfer, more consistent judgments across reviewers, lower cognitive load from eliminating manual tab-switching, and faster onboarding for newer analysts working through a plain-language read of each case.
Why it matters for on-chain monitoring
For traders and researchers who track wallet-level flows and exchange risk signals, the relevant detail is scale: a compliance tool spanning 330-plus chains and 110,000 attributed entities feeding faster, standardized transfer narratives could shorten the lag between suspicious on-chain activity and formal flagging by institutions and regulators that rely on Crystal Expert’s reports. The company is ISO 27001 and GDPR compliant with EU-based data governance, underscoring its positioning toward regulated financial institutions rather than retail tooling.
No pricing, adoption figures, or performance benchmarks for Ask Crystal were disclosed at launch. The feature is currently limited to existing Crystal Expert customers under role-based access controls.
