Coinbase Shifts 1.16T SHIB Off-Book in 30 Minutes, Arkham Flags Custody Reshuffle
Three Coinbase-linked wallets moved 1.16 trillion SHIB with no order-book footprint, per Arkham data, as SHIB sits just below top-30 by market cap.

Coinbase moved 1,163,213,299,134 SHIB — roughly 1.16 trillion tokens — across three transactions inside a single 30-minute window, according to on-chain data flagged by Arkham Intelligence. None of the volume touched the spot order book, and the destination wallets show zero prior transaction history, pointing to an internal custody reshuffle rather than a market sale.
Three transfers, one 30-minute window
The first leg sent 242,132,753,815 SHIB from a Coinbase Prime Custody wallet tagged 0x674 to a freshly created address. A second transfer followed shortly after, moving 348,080,545,216 SHIB from a separate Prime Custody wallet, 0x937, to another new wallet with no transaction history.
The largest single leg, 573,000,000,103 SHIB, originated from an unmarked address, 0xa59, during the same hour as the other two moves. Arkham’s analysts attribute this third transfer to Coinbase as well, based on timing and transaction patterns consistent with the other custody wallets, even though the address itself carries no explicit exchange label.
As of publication, all three receiving wallets are still holding the tokens, with no further outbound activity recorded. That static balance sheet is the key detail separating this event from a distribution or sale: the SHIB hasn’t gone anywhere near liquidity venues.
Why the order book stayed untouched
Because the transfers ran wallet-to-wallet between addresses believed to be under Coinbase’s control, they carry none of the signals analysts typically associate with selling pressure — no exchange deposits from external holders, no matched trades, no order-book depth consumed. Large custodians routinely redistribute holdings across newly generated wallets for security segmentation, cold-storage rotation, or operational liquidity management, and this pattern fits that template rather than a liquidation event.
The move also isn’t isolated to one exchange. Coinbase’s reshuffle follows a comparable internal transfer at Binance involving roughly 400 billion SHIB, which likewise showed the hallmarks of wallet reallocation rather than an exchange-side sale. For traders scanning whale alerts, the read-through is that headline token counts moved by custodians don’t automatically translate into supply hitting the market — the wallet topology and order-book footprint matter more than the raw figure.
SHIB sits one spot from reclaiming top 30
The transfers land as Shiba Inu presses for a return to the top 30 assets by market capitalization. SHIB currently ranks 31st with a market cap of $2.49 billion, trailing Tether Gold (XAUt) at roughly $2.52 billion in 30th place — a gap of about $30 million separating the two.
SHIB was trading at $0.000004231 at press time, with 24-hour volume up 5.74% to $43.56 million. The volume uptick, combined with sustained on-chain attention around the Coinbase and Binance custody activity, suggests traders are treating the wallet movements as a data point worth tracking rather than a market-moving catalyst — for now.
